Hanson’s Original Kettle Korn

The Hanson family started making fans shortly after popping its first kernel of kettle korn at First Night State College. They produce delightfully different popcorn served fresh, sweet and warm from a copper kettle. They also offer hot beverages including hot chocolate, cider, and coffee at the top of the Park.
Backwoods Smoke Shack
South Allen Street & Calder Way

Hot barbecue can really hit the spot on a cold day. After coming to State College for the first time during this summer’s Arts Festival, Kris Patterson and Backwoods Smoke Shack return with their delicious brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and other barbecued treats and hot beverages.
First Night Café

Chili is back! Stop by to warm up and choose from a selection of chili varieties, as well as chili dogs, kraut dogs, beverages and homemade desserts. As you enjoy a warming meal, you’ll also be supporting the ministries of Faith Church, including the ‘Out of the Cold’ homeless shelter and ‘Penguin Packs’ weekend food supplies for elementary age students. Visitors may use the Calder Way entrance to Romig Hall or the handicapped accessible entrance on Locust Lane.
Soups and Sweets Café
University Baptist and Brethren Church, 411 South Burrowes Street
4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Enjoy delicious homemade breads, soups, desserts, and hot beverages in between your First Night activities in the lower level Fellowship Room of University Baptist and Brethren Church. A wheelchair accessible entrance (with lift) is available on Robin Alley next to the handicapped parking. Suggested donations support youth travel to volunteer work projects.
