DESCRIPTION:Live jazz with world-class musicians living right here in State College: Joshua Davis\, Rick Hirsch\, and Charlie Heim. \nDr. Joshua Davis has devoted his career to pushing boundaries as a bandleader\, bassist\, composer\, arranger\, and Director of Jazz at Penn State. He has performed with Love Salad\, the Artie Shaw Orchestra\, and the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra. Drummer Charlie Heim recently returned to State College after 20 years on the Philly music scene. He has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival\, in innovative stage productions in Liverpool and Tokyo\, and a community drumming program in Botswana. Rick Hirsch is an award-winning composer\, arranger\, saxophonist and educator. He has performed with Tito Puente\, the Temptations\, and Max Roach; has had his music performed by the US Navy Commordores and the Penn State Blue Band; and is the director of the Fraser Street Saxes. \nA First Night Button is required for this performance.

Bar trivia started in the United Kingdom in the 1970s and it took several decades before it gained a foothold in the United States. Gather a team of friends and family and join local trivia mavens John Briggs and Karen Bettleyon in First Night State College’s Trivia Night.
