First Night State College Performances

First Night State College presents music, theater, and vaudeville performances in downtown churches, theaters, and public buildings on the afternoon and evening of December 31st. We strive to give our audience a wide variety of family-friendly options – everything from bluegrass to classical music, juggling acts, plays and musicals.

Admission to most performances is by a First Night button; children 12 and under are free. Our ten dollar button provides admission to almost fifty events. Buttons are available at select locations in the Centre Region and downtown State College in December and also at all venues on December 31. Please note that seating is limited at some popular venues. We advise getting there early to be sure to get a seat.

We’ve organized the performances by time of day, based on when they begin (performances with multiple times have been listed in all relevant slots). Click on the tiles below to see who’s on stage and when and plan your visit accordingly!

  • Early afternoon performances begin between 12 and 3 p.m.
  • Late afternoon performances begin after 3 and by 5 p.m.
  • Early evening performances begin after 5 and by 7 p.m.
  • Night performances begin after 7 p.m.
